Nigerian Army Post Exchange (NAPEX)

NAPEX was established in 1984 as a limited liability company by the NA.  it has the objective of meeting the welfare needs of NA personnel.  This was to be achieved through the establishment of supermarkets and partnerships with the aim of sharing profit from legitimate businesses.  It could also carry out the business of importation and manufacturing of goods.  These are aimed at imparting positively on the welfare of NA personnel.  NAPEX has in its 24 years of existence continued to strive to appropriately position  itself to achieve its objectives.  The outfit has faced challenges of expansion, management, funding and innovation with all seriousness. It has plans for the establishment of new supermarkets, training of personnel, and diversification of trading activities.  There was also the intention for welfare delivery through micro credit, poverty alleviation and joint venture.  It has been projected that under the unified structure, NAPEX trading activities would be expanded, new businesses opened through joint ventures and by the time its presence fully established in all barracks, it would earn annual income of N400 million nd create jobs at all levels.

An integrated credit scheme for NA personnel and their families to enable them purchase various household items at cheaper prices with good and flexible repayment arrangements is also in the pipeline. Similarly, the processes for importation of fast moving items and goods like rice, electronics,clothing etc are being perfected.
